Kidde Fire Systems, the world leader in providing total system solutions for special hazard fire protection, offers a comprehensive portfolio of detection, notification, suppression and control products that can be tailored to fit specific applications. Kidde Fire Systems products can be found protecting industries around the world, such as: mining, marine, power, oil and gas, manufacturing, semiconductor, commercial cooking, education, cultural and heritage, service and timber and wood.
These are applications in facilities that cannot afford the downtime associated with a fire or typical water-based fire suppression systems. Fires are caused by a combination of fuel, oxygen and heat.
Clean Agents absorb heat from the surface of the burning material and effectively lower its temperature below the ignition point – thereby disrupting the fire triangle and suppressing the fire.
The suppression agents do not harm the equipment or personnel in the protected room or cause a mess to clean up afterwards.
Kidde Fire Systems’ Clean Agents offer fast extinguishment, suppressing fires within seconds of the agent being discharged into the protected area.
The agents are ventilated out of the space and do not leave behind a residue to be cleaned up, allowing your facility to get back to work immediately.
Clean Agents are non-toxic when used in compliance with NFPA Standard 2001. They do not impair breathing or obscure vision in an emergency situation, providing an added measure of safety for personnel
An innovative advanced delivery clean agent fire suppression system developed to provide fire protection for larger enclosures requiring longer agent flow distances.
The Kidde Advanced Delivery System (ADS™) type Clean Agent Suppression System improves the performance of standard 360 psi (25 bar) or 500 psi (35 bar) systems by using a nitrogen driver to propel the agent through the piping network. This innovation provides better coverage, greater nozzle heights, smaller diameter pipe and longer pipe runs than a standard clean agent suppression system.
Clean Agent Characteristics Defined by NFPA 2001 | ADS Suppression Agents Offered by Kidde Fire Systems |
- They are volatile, non-conductive gases. | - Fluoro-K™ (FK-5-1-12) |
- They leave behind no residue of any kind. | - FM-200™ (HFC-227ea) |
- They are safe for use in occupied areas when properly designed. | |
- They are environmentally acceptable to the EPA. |
The ECS-500 clean agent fire suppression system introduces improved system design flexibility with reduced installation and material costs.
The ECS-500 type Clean Agent Suppression Systems provide superior performance compared to 360 psi/25 bar systems. The higher storage pressure of 500 psi (35 bar) enables improvement of agent travel distance for applications where ADS™ performance levels are not required. Now you have the flexibility of a mid-tier solution to meet application size, design requirements and the client’s budget.
Benefits:
- New 1,100 lb. cylinder reduces cylinder quantities and installation time required while providing enough agent to cover up to a 27,000 cubic feet area with a single cylinder
- Increased system pressure allows for longer pipe runs and use of smaller pipe diameters
- Provides flexibility to remotely locate cylinder storage area more than twice the distance from the hazard area when compared to 360 psi/25 bar systems
- Can be used with existing 4.0 HASP Key flow calculation software
The Kidde Fire Systems ECS 360 psi clean agent suppression systems have proven to be an effective and reliable product that protects highly valuable assets without damaging the equipment.
The Kidde ECS™ System is the preferred choice for small to medium size asset spaces that require clean agent fire suppression. Given the versatility of configuration, the system can easily be expanded and scaled up for larger volume spaces as well.
Kidde Fire Systems offers the ECS system exclusively with FM-200 (HFC-227ea)

The Kidde Fire Systems WHDR Wet Chemical Kitchen System is a cost-effective, pre-engineered fire protection solution designed for a quick and easy installation. The system offers unmatched coverage, with fewer discharge nozzles and flow points than the competition, meaning reduced installation time and cost. It exceeds stringent UL 300 standard and complies with NFPA Standards 96 and 17A.
The WHDR system is specifically designed for the challenging demands posed by cooking applications. By offering one of the most flexible system configurations in the industry, Kidde provides efficient, economical protection for all types of cooking facilities and design layouts. Our customized approach allows you to specify the type of detection, control and cylinder sizes to fit your application.
AIR-Intelligence HSSD continuously adapt their sensitivity to the environment in which they are installed, providing alarm thresholds which are 'relative' to the background particle levels in the protected area, instead of placing the alarm threshold at a fixed level relative to ambient conditions. At any time, the detector's performance remains constant, regardless of fluctuations in the normal background particle level. AIR-Intelligence detectors only respond to particle levels significantly above the expected background level, such as from a genuine fire situation.
